Higher Source was a web design firm established by Heaven's Gate which was responsible for financing most of its affairs.
They practiced what they called "Higher Source programming" which included Java, SQL, C++, and Visual Basic. The Higher Source website had stated that they provided a "collective work ethic" with like-minded individuals. Clients often times described them as people who followed strict dress codes and had a good sense of humor. However, while their work ethic was different and efficient, they didn't provide the most technically advanced sites.
Heaven's Gate's interest in computers seems to stem from their idea that anyone proficient in utilising computers to being able to comprehend with Biblical ideas and those apt in software and computer program coding will "resonate" more than a normal person. Furthermore, the digital world of the Internet that is another realm separate from the physical one seems to also parallel Heaven's Gate's doctrine about the Next Level.
